After a couple of years competing in local competitions in Arklow and New Ross we got the urge to travel furthur afield to broaden our experience of choir singing and to have a good time. So in 1995 we set off for the first of many trips to Llandydno Eisteddfod in Wales. We did have a good time there but didn't do so well in the competition. I wonder if the two things were related ? We went back to Wales for a few years until we finally managed to win a competition against the home teams. Then in 2004 we spread our wings a bit more and went to Cantat 2004 in Prague where , to our delight and surprise, we won a gold medal in the Open competition and a special award for folk song interpretation. We are now preparing for a visit to Vienna in December to take part in the Christmas celebrations there.
