Our Fuhrer meets their Fuhrer

Donagh went to Budapest to revisit the scene of his previous triumphs at the Kodaly Institute last year. He met his old Boss there who, by coincidence, happened to be the International Adjudicator in Cork this year. Here is a picture of Prof. Peter Erdie , Der (I mean Their) Fuhrer, giving a talk and Don, far right, trying to hypnotise him into giving us good marks if ever he met us in the future.

And to show he is not just a pretty face, here is a pic of the Alumni Choir singing with our lad giving it yards on the left.

Cease not in Cork

DISAPPOINTED
We shouldnt be but we are . After coming to Cork with hopes high and hard work we were disapponted to be placed only 4th out of 16 choirs in the National Open Competition. The fact that only 1.2 marks seperated the first four was an indication of just how close the competition was with the order being 87.2, 86.50, 86.25 and us at 86. I have never seen so close a call and we should be proud that we got so close. I know, I know, but it would have been nicer to be placed 3rd. The winners, by the way, were from Killeagh in Co. Cork. I'm told a good time was had by all who stayed over the week end. They didn't look too shattered on the Sunday morning when the rest arrived so the Chairman's words of warning ( about getting fluttered) had been heeded.

We live to fight another day.
At least I hope we live to fight another day. Below is a series of pics taken during a rehearsal where Donagh threw everything ( including himself ) into it
